Nabins @ Bali Lane

I was surprised shocked by the portions of this. A whole good combination of 5 Arabic dishes - 'Bitingan Ma'li,' 'Falafel,' 'Kofta Kebab,' 'Sfeeha' and 'Hummus Babaganush'. Don't ask me what they are. I only know it's a delicious mix of minced lamb, chicken cubes, beans, pita, Basmati rice, tahini sauce, hummus, something like that.

Served with delicious couscous.

Arabic twist to a Western dish.

My mum discovered a random stall at a coffee shop near my place which serves damn good Korean fare at prices too reasonable and portions more than generous.

Freshest Saba fish with abundance of hotplate BBQ pork complete with rice, soup, appetisers for $5.80 only.

$4.50 bibimbap.

Chocolate Origin

Alas, a chocolate cake with everything perfect - sweetness, richness, texture, meltability.

Check out the smooth, mirror-like surface!

One bite, and I was sold. Two thin layers of sponge trapped between robust chocolate truffles. The best part is, it isn't sweet at all. I'm a big fan of dark bitter chocolates, so this cake fits me just fine. (Pardon my ugly cutting.)

If you prefer something slightly sweeter, opt for their 'Original' flavour. There is no extra sugar added, no colourings, no preservatives, and they use Belgium dark chocolate for both their cakes.

Chocolate Origin will be at Takashimaya B2 until this Sunday (19 Feb), and I heard that they'll be opening a new store in 313@somerset next month. Good news to the non-east-siders! You don't have to travel all the way to Changi Village anymore!

Dining in Krabi

Walked into a random Italian restaurant for dinner.

Or rather, fusion restaurant because they serve Thai dishes as well. There are dozens of such restaurant in the whole Ao Nang stretch in Krabi.

But restaurant's standards still can't match up to a roadside stall's. I love eating from dirty looking stalls along the road run by locals. It feels really authentic.

And this 'Banana Cheese Pancake' is the best roadside snack at Krabi. Had this every single day.

This restaurant is way far off from town. It's situated at Tup Kaek beach where you can literally sit by the beach and dine to the sound of waves. It may not seem like much, but once close to sunset, with the tables set up and all, it looks like this...

Perfect.

Undeniably the best dinner experience at Krabi. Almost close to a dream come true.

The Banana Leaf Apolo @ Serangoon Road

'Butter Chicken' is my favourite North Indian dish, and always serves as the best dip for naans. We ordered 'Garlic Naans', 'Butter Naans', and 'Cheese Naans', but I didn't take photos of any at all. First time failing as a food blogger.

The food was good, but portions are way too small for the kind of price we were paying. This made me miss Urban Spice even more, but they're no longer in business D:
